News talk ZB: Calls for research from Chch property owners

Property owners in Christchurch's CBD are calling for research into lightweight, quake resilient buildings to replace their battered ones.

Members of the Peterborough Village, which was created to support CBD property owners following February's big shake, will discuss rebuild alternatives at a workshop next month.

Landscape architect, Di Lucas, says the focus of the workshop will be on sustainability, resilience and affordability.

She says the cost of stronger and deeper foundations under post-quake by-laws is unaffordable for some people.
